I am convinced that some things are so painful because they are that much worth waiting for. Lord, turn my focus to always be upon You. You’re the reason I’m here, the reason I am where I am, doing what I’m doing. Remind me of that every single day. Now is a time of striving for satisfaction in you alone, not a time of waiting for what I want to come to pass. I’m humbled and broken and asking of forgiveness at Your feet for thinking even once this was all about me, what I want, and/or my future. Help me to remember that I am guided by You and You alone, and that my own fragmented ounce of wisdom will only lead me down selfish paths. I’m giving it all away.
